30 Mom & Me Journal Prompts for Fall

For the last few years I have kept a “Mom & Me” journal with my daughter that we write back and forth in. It has been a great tool for communicating and bringing up topics that might not otherwise come up in “natural” conversation. Our “Mom and Me” journal has been a lot of fun and I know it will be something we both treasure when she is all grown up! We don’t always write regularly and there is no pressure to respond right away. When we do write in the journal we leave it on the other person’s pillow for them to find.

A “Mom and Me” journal can be as fancy as you want it to be, or very simple. We use a composition notebook with a cute cover that I made. There are journals available that have prompts for writing in them or you can grab a blank journal. Whatever you choose, this is just a really fun way to communicate with your kids.

However, sometimes it is hard to come up with topics to write about. I love to ask questions so I can get to know them better but keeping a journal is a chance to let them know about me too. I don’t ever use the journal to correct or point out flaws. My opinion is that your journal should be about encouragement and positive interactions.
