Simple Journaling Method|Great for Beginners

Awhile ago my mother-in-law shared with me a journaling method that she had been using. She has passed away recently and one thing I always admired about her was that she was a woman of deep faith and always open to working on her character. I loved the journaling idea she shared so I thought I would share it with my readers!

If you’ve visited my site before you know that I am a big fan of “Mom and Me” Journaling. I wrote about in my post “Easy Ways to Positively Connect With Your Child”  and in my post “30 Mom & Me Journal Prompts for Fall”.

If you are new to journaling this method is a great way for a beginner to start! Or if you have been journaling for awhile and would like a fresh idea then this might be for you.

Here is the super simple journaling idea:

5 things you are grateful for

I love the idea of daily writing out things we are thankful for. This can be a  great tool for changing our perspective on life. If you are using this with your child in a “Mom and Me” journal it’s a great reminder to your child to count their blessings! What a great habit to start!

3 things you accomplished today

Taking a moment at the end of the day to write down your accomplishments is an awesome motivator. Personally, I love lists! Sometimes if I haven’t done anything on my list I add what I did do to the bottom just so I can cross it off!

1 thing you wish to be known by

We don’t ever get so old that we can’t benefit from character development! Opening up this topic of conversation with your kids will hopefully lead to a lifelong habit of growth in their personal life.

Try it out and see what growth occurs in your life. I would love to hear feedback on this idea. Please don’t hesitate to comment below or e-mail me anytime.

Tell me what you think! Have you tried it in a “Mom & Me” journal? I’d love to hear from you, any comments or questions you might have. Let’s get a conversation going!
