Summer Photo Scavenger Hunt

Are you looking for ways to keep kids entertained this summer? Let’s get them off of devices and get them doing something creative. With that goal in mind I’ve created a summer photo scavenger hunt. Great as a family activity, fun with friends, or as an individual hobby.

Hint: Photo Scavenger Hunts are not just for kids 🙂

You don’t have to have a fancy camera to do a photo scavenger hunt. Most of our phones take pretty good pictures these days. Have an old digital camera collecting dust? Hand it off to your kids and see what they come up with.

If your kids are anything like mine they can waste a bunch of time just taking silly selfies! I wish I had a dollar for every kid selfie I find on my phone.

Without further ado here is the summer photo scavenger hunt!

Ways to Enjoy a Photo Scavenger Hunt:

-Give each child a list and a camera and make it a competition.

-Try drawing/painting some of the items on the list and then taking a picture.

-Look through a magazine and see if you can find all the items on the list.

-Be as creative as you like. If you can’t find the actual item look for it in artwork, books, or greeting cards.

-Send the list to a friend and share your photos when you are both done.

-If you get an awesome photo blow it up and enter it into a county fair.

-Use your child’s photos to make a set of greeting cards to give to their Grandparents for the next birthday or Christmas

-Keep a photo journal instead of a writing journal this summer.

I hope you have fun with this list! If you are interested in more photo scavenger hunt ideas you can check out my posts:
